Sunrise Detox operates as a free-standing detoxification and substance abuse treatment facility, with locations in Palm Beach, FL and the NY metro area. We believe in providing superior medical detox in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Our facilites offer both private and semi-private rooms; inviting lounge areas with wide-screen HDTV; digital cable; an enclosed courtyard where clients can smoke ; We are a licensed buprenorphine medical detox center and most clients going through detox for heroin or opiate pain medication (e.g. Oxycontin, Percocet and Vicodin) will be given buprenorphine. We do, however, create individual protocols based upon our patients needs.

Dr. Francis Rienzo
Dr. Rienzo has been in private practice in internal medicine for over 20 years and has been involved in the field of addiction medicine since the early 90's. He is the co-founder and Medical Director of Jersey Shore Daytox, Medical Director of Discovery Institute for Addictive Disorders, Clinic physician for Jersey Shore Addiction Services. He is also employed by NJ Sports and Exposition authority as an in- house physician. Dr. Rienzo is an active treatment advocate for Rickitt Benckiser pharmaceuticals and is often called upon to train physicians in the proper treatment with Suboxone. He is a diplomate of American Board of Internal Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).

Dan Pitzer
Since 2000, Mr. Pitzer has served as Coordinator of the Annual Addictions Institute of the New York City Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Mr. Pitzer served as Assistant Vice President of the Employee Assistance Program at Merrill Lynch from 2002-2009. In the past, he served as a family therapist at Stuyvesant Square Inpatient Rehabilitation Program at Beth Israel Hospital and as Acting Manager of the Member Assistance Program at LOCAL 32-B-J.
Dan is also a Treating Clinician for the National Football League (NFL) Program for Substances of Abuse. He serves on the adjunct faculty of the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service and the NYU Silver School of Social Work.
Dan Pitzer, President of Breaking The Chain Counseling, LLC, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York and New Jersey. He is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW) and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LCADC) in New Jersey. He is a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York, as well as a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) with a Master of Social Work and a Post Master Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling from New York University (NYU).

Jean Bronock-Zatcone
Jean has over 30 years of experience in Behavioral Health from staff nursing through the executive level. She began working in the field of addictions while in Europe and employed by the US Army. She has also served as a Vice President of nursing within a four hospital system, ensuring that all regulatory requirements were met including those for the Joint Commission. She is an RN with a Masters degree in Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and has served on a variety of Boards including Greystone Park State Hospital, Sussex VNA, and currently on New Views, a co-occurring treatment provider. She has been honored for her advocacy and leadership by the Boy Scouts of America, the United States Air Force, and the Garden State Women's Magazine.

Jeffrey Gorin
In 1994 Jeff became a Counselor with Hanley Hazelden. In 2000, he received a Masters of Science in Applied Addiction and opened his private practice. On July 21, 2004 Jeff was instrumental in the opening of Sunrise Detoxification Center, LLC as a Co-Founder and is the center’s Clinical Director. Mr. Gorin holds certificates with the State of Florida and NAADAC.

Dr. Morgan Poncy
After graduating from the University of Miami School of Medicine, Dr. Poncy completed his internship and residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in
Miami. While continuing his private practice, he co-founded Sunrise Detox in 2004 with Jeffrey Gorin. Seeing the need for a private inpatient detox, Dr. Poncy became one of the first physicians in South Florida licensed to administer Suboxone. He has become a recognized
resource among his peers for his in depth understanding of this revolutionary medication and for his dedication to treating patients with addictions.
Director of Nursing
Linda Burns
Linda is a certified addictions registered nurse with 15 years of progressive diversified experience in the behavioral health field. She spent nine years as the Director of Nursing for Universal Health Services in Pennsylvania providing management, training, direct patient care, JCAHO preparation, and various operational duties. In 2004, Linda relocated to Florida and joined Sunrise Detoxification Center. She has attended Delaware County, Penn State, and St. Josephs University. Linda’s many accomplishments include the development of innovative treatment protocols, staff training programs, and the development and implementation of tools to effectively monitor and insure quality care for patients. Mrs. Burns continues her training through workshops and seminars with a focus on new clinical and pharmacologic treatment modalities specific to substance abuse.
